MAYVILLE, N.Y.: -- Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan has announced his selection of Jessica Wisniewski as the new Chautauqua County Director of Human Resources.
This appointment is subject to the confirmation of the Chautauqua County Legislature. If approved at the legislature meeting on May 24, Wisniewski will begin her position on June 30, 2017. She will replace current director Joseph Porpiglia, who will be retiring at the end of June.
Wisniewski has served as the Human Resources Manager at Precision Abrasives since 2013. In this position, she leads all facets of human resources and partners with management to adhere to human resources policies. In addition, she has held management and senior-level positions at Cott Beverages and GEICO. She started her human resources career at the Department of Social Services in Charlotte, N.C.
“Jessica has 12 years of experience in employee relations, benefit administration, recruitment, and policy and procedure development,” said Horrigan. “Her impressive background in the private sector will be a great asset to the county and I am excited to welcome her to our team.”

Wisniewski earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also holds a Professional Human Resources (PHR) certificate and currently resides in Fredonia, N.Y.
The selection of the new director of human resources was made through the help of a bi-partisan search committee, which selected its top candidates for Horrigan to interview. Members of the search committee included county legislators and high-ranking county management officials.
